Todd McFarlane prepares us for 2021: the year he expands the Spawn universe, starting with a four-chapter one-shot, finalizing three new monthly titles.

Following the Spawn Universe one-shot, three new monthly titles are being released: King Spawn (August release), Gunslinger Spawn, and The Scorched.

Follow the story of a centuries-old immortal demi-god known as ‘B’ in BRZRKR, BOOM! Studios’ newest series written as Keanu Reeves’ first original comic book creation, and co-written with bestselling author Matt Kindt.

BRZRKR, cursed and compelled to violence, has been wandering the world for centuries. The story picks up in modern day, when he’s made an agreement with the US Government: do the jobs too dangerous and violent for anyone else, and in return, they’ll give him the truth about his existence.

I waited on the trade for Something is Killing the Children and I’m glad I did. This books is a slow-burn, horror comic written by James Tynion III with art by Werther Dell’Edera. What’s it about? A bunch of children have been disappearing in a small town and a lone survivor is left to hold the weight of the town’s fear and anger. He needs a supporter in and comes when we are introduced to Erica Slaughter, a mysterious young lady that drifts into town and says she knows ‘what’ is taking the disappearing children and that she can stop it. She’s a monster killer and part of an organization that appears to handle these types of situations. The story is great and the art is solid. If you want to check out the first issue, they are reprinting it for Local Comic Shop Day, so let us know and we can order you up a copy (release: 11/18). We also carry the trade paperback if you want to jump in and read the first 5 issues! (I found this the best way as each issue had me wanting to what happens next).

Local Comic Shop Day has been going on for 4 years & is an event not just to offer awesome, limited comics, but a chance to get people into the store so they can take advantage of a sale, ask questions about creating/maintaining a pull list, talking to other like-minded people, asking about cool books, etc. This will be an all-day event (11am-6pm), with a store-wide sale.

Undiscovered Country #1 is scheduled to release on 11/6 and we will have a signing of the book that day from 5pm-7pm. Tom will be in store to sign copies of the book and you have the option to get them slabbed if you want (We are a witness, so anybody that wants to get the copy graded will also get a yellow label from CBCS).
