Skippack Zombie Crawl

Get zombified by one of our favorite customers and professional makeup artist, Matt Phoenix of Phoenix Burn Productions, then head over to some of our favorite Skippback establishments for drinks and good times!

We’ll start out at Hotel Fiesole, then to Brasserie73, Roadhouse Grille, and Justin’s Carriage House in Skippack. All zombies will also get treats from Miss Riddle’s Candy Shop 🙂 Post zombie crawl, we’ll be watching Shaun of the Dead at the shop. Makeup starts at 6 and we’ll hit the first bar around 7pm.

Cost is $15 for basic zombie makeup, a drink at each of our stops, candy and the movie showing. Tickets are available now and MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE.  Stop in the shop to buy yours or click the button below to purchase online!

Please note: We need your phone number, so that we can contact you with your scheduled makeup time slot.  When prompted on the PayPal form, please provide the best number at which we can get a hold of you.

Movie Night: 8/31

nw_Justice_League_-_The_Flashpoint_ParadoxOur next Movie Night is scheduled for Saturday, 8/31 at 7pm. We’ll be showing Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. It’s the last Saturday of August and what better way to unofficially end the summer than with an action-packed comic movie? As usual, seating is BYO (we do have folding chairs in the shop) and we’ll provide the popcorn. There is no cost for the event — but you’re welcome to shop while here! 😉 About the movie: We all wish for the chance to go back in time and change the things. For The Flash, that coveted chance is within reach. He traverses time to right a violent, decades-past crime against his mother, but the ripples of his good intentions prove disastrous, as a fractured, alternate reality now exists in place of the familiar one. Stumbling through this twisted reality where even Superman is nowhere to be found, The Flash seeks the trusted wisdom of Batman, only to find a grittier, more violent Dark Knight in his place. Together, with the help of Cyborg, they race to restore the continuity of Flash’s original timeline while this new world is ravaged by a fierce war between Wonder Woman’s Amazons and the Atlanteans, led by a battle-hardened Aquaman. The film is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for sci-fi violence and action throughout.

July 12 Friday Night Magic

Magic the GatheringFriday, July 12: We have the tables set up for draft or standard Magic, or any other format you’d like to play! Cost is $15 for three packs and prizes. Intro packs also available. nv_victorian carriage shopsJuly 4, 4th of July Parade: The parade begins at 11:00am, traveling down down Skippack Pike (Route 73), thru the heart of Skippack Village. A barbecue at Parc Bistro begins at at 3pm, and fireworks start at dusk in Palmer Park, near Skippack Elementary School, with parking areas off of Heckler Road and Creamery Road. >> Click for more details.

July 5, First Friday in July: The fun begins at 5pm and lasts til 9pm. Shops stay open late and musicians, artists and family entertainers enliven sidewalks, porches, shops and restaurants throughout the village. Lots of shops have specials, too — stop by New Wave Comics and we’ll put a free superhero (temporary) tattoo on you!  There’s plenty of free parking, just come to town >> Click for more info.

July 16-20, Annual Skippack Summer Carnival: Head over to 4059 Skippack Pike (across the street from the Basta Pasta) for an old-fashioned carnival, with bright lights, popcorn, cotton candy, games, and rides! The carnival will be held Tuesday, July 16 thru Friday, July 19 from 6 til 10pm, and Saturday, July 20, from 3 til 6pm. >> Click for more info.

July 24, US Nation (US tribut band) FREE concert: Free concert for all ages, 6:30-8:30 pm, 4059 Skippack Pike, across the street from Basta Pasta. Bring your blanket or chairs and enjoy the music and soaking in the Skippack atmosphere. The concert site will have a variety of vendors available, offering you their one of a kind arts, crafts, jewelry, and tasty food. We also have a moonbounce for the kids.

July 27, Trash-to-Treasure Sale: Multi-vendor yard sale held in the heart of Skippack Village, 4059 Skippack Pike, across from Basta Pasta. Fee is $10 for a 10’x10’spot for displaying and selling your items. Registration is day of show, 7-8:30 am. The event goes 9am-3pm. Call (610) 584-6004 for more info.

Movie Night! Superman: Unbound

Superman unboundOur first Movie Night will be on Saturday, June 15 at 5:30pm. BYO chair or blanket and spill-proof beverage, and we’ll supply the popcorn and movie. One of our Facebook friends, John McKelvey, suggested the Superman: Unbound movie, so that’s what we’ll be showing this week. Limited seating available! Based on the reviews, Superman: Unbound looks like a great adaptation of the Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s story arc from Action Comics (#’s 866-870). Parents, please keep in mind it’s rated PG-13 “for sequences of violence and action, and a rude gesture.” Read more by clicking here.
