Of course, we make a special effort to make sure female-created & -led books are in the shop year-round, not just during Women in Comics Month 🙂 Here are some that we’re looking forward to checking out this week:
Lumberjanes #12: A shop favorite, Lumberjanes is not only an all female conceived & created book, it also features a cast of adventurous, monster-fighting young women! In this month’s issue, Mal & Molly just want to get back to their friends, but things are looking more dire by the minute. It’s going to be a crazy dash through this weird mixed-up world as they try to not only find a working portal, but one that will take them back to camp! (W)Watters & Stevenson (A/CA)Nowak
Orphan Black #2: This one-of-a-kind book is based on the BBC TV show of the same name, with interior art by Szymon Kudranski & cover art by Cat Staggs. When Sarah attempted to assume the identity of a lookalike stranger, she soon uncovered an earth-shattering secret: she is a clone. Sarah also learns that someone is trying to kill them all, one by one. That someone is another clone, Helena, a murderous, self-abusing fundamentalist who believes she is the “original” & all her other sisters are “abominations” to be eradicated. Ms. Marvel TP 2: Written by the very talented, genre-bending, G. Willow Wilson, & featuring a lead character full of girl power. As Ms. Marvel discovers more about her past, the Inventor continues to threaten her future. Kamala bands together with some unlikely heroes to stop the maniacal villain before he does real damage, but has she taken on more than she can handle? The fan-favorite, critically acclaimed, amazing new series continues as Kamala Khan proves why she’s the best new super hero there is! Collecting Ms. Marvel (2014) #6-11. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 10 #13: With art by Megan Levens & featuring a strong female lead. March is Women in Comics Month & DC is celebrating with 23 different female creators on 26 different books. Out this week at the shop:
Meanwhile, Marvel is celebrating with 20 women-created variant covers. Out this week at the shop is All New X-Men #39 by Faith Erin Hicks and Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #3 by Guirhiru.

ABOUT DRAGONS OF TARKIR:
Dragons of Tarkir is designed to be drafted with Fate Reforged but not with Khans of Tarkir. Also, Dragons of Tarkir will not rotate out of Standard with Khans of Tarkir and Fate Reforged, but instead will rotate out with Magic 2016 due to Standard’s regulation changes. Dragons of Tarkir contains 264 cards and includes randomly inserted premium versions of all cards. Like the one from Scourge before, the expansion symbol of Dragons of Tarkir represents a dragon’s head. (Source)
ABOUT FATE REFORGED:
Sarkhan Vol travels 1,280 years back in time, to change the moment that sealed Tarkir’s fate: the battle between Nicol Bolas and Ugin, the demise of the latter and all dragons of Tarkir (Crux of Fate). The clans still exist back in the time; they are not fighting each other but are constantly fending off the legion hordes of dragons that are terrorizing their world.
